Your "I'm not going to BlogHer" survival guide
As you may or may not have noticed, BlogHer '08 begins later this week. Let the squeeing begin, I guess. If you can't make the festivities, I have some tips for you. They're not at all comprehensive, or frankly all that useful, but here we go.
1. I've heard that it can be just the teensiest bit irritating to hear nothing but blogherOMGblogherOMGblogher for the next week or two, and if you find yourself overwhelmed, and you Twitter, the simplest solution is for you to use Twitter Snooze. This way you can basically mute those of us who are talking nonstop about something you're sick to death of. Instead of unsubscribing from all your Twitter peeps who are at BlogHer, just mute us all for a few days.
2. Since you won't be there for me to force you to take one of my business cards, I'll share them here:
And I'll be carrying them around in this because it's pretty, handmade, and makes me laugh:
3. I considered making some laptop stickers, or magnets, or something else terribly clever to hand out, but seriously folks, I don't have the brain cells for that. More power to you if you can pull off that kind of primo marketing, but I think I lost all my spare brain cells when my third child was born.
4. Want to find out what is going on at BlogHer? In person? From, maybe, me perhaps? Call me!
1-650-248-2451
Really! For reals! Give me a ring-a-ding and I'll give you a real-time hookup to what is happening at that moment in BlogHer time! (Don't worry — whenever it is a bad time to talk I'll send all calls straight to voicemail.)
5. I'm going to try to shoot a lot of video to let everyone get a feel for what it is like. BlogHer is one of the best things I do all year, and I'm hoping I can do a good job sharing that with you.
Whether you call me, stalk me on Twitter, follow my blog posts, or choose to ignore it all, BlogHer is a force to be reckoned with. You might be hearing more about it in the next few days. I'm just saying…

Adding your number to my cell phone right now.
Hope you meant it. I need to know where the cool people are. ;)
Wouldn't have posted if it I didn't mean it :)
Thanks for the info on Twitter Snooze. I hadn't heard of it before.
Can't wait for BlogHer (LMAO ROFL). Will try and track you down.
Shannanb aka Mommy Bits's latest post: Elsa Peretti's Got Nothing On My Boys
Oh Erika, you are seriously the best. So glad I AM attending the big BH, so I have the chance to meet you. I'll try not to embarrass either one of us by…say…SQUEEEING too loudly.
Note my use of the word TRY.

I am SO jealous of all ya'll going to BlogHer. I will just have to live vicariously through you, K?

Considering a call to you would be the equivalent of a weeks groceries from Australia, just talk to my pic I sent you. A lot. And show me a good time. Cause the real me is going to go rock in the corner and plot ways of selling everything on EBay to attend next year.
Kelley's latest post: I ain’t got no more kidneys to sell…

Hope you all have a great time, even if I'm not there. Did I just say that? Aren't I a tool?
Seriously, have fun!
Hey kirida, don't forget the vomit. Lots and lots of vomit.
Mrs. S — yes. Kind of like a phillips screwdriver. A little exotic, a little utilitarian, and never around when you need it — maybe next year?
Your cards are FANTASTIC!! I love the dry "mommy blogger line". Will you design some for me?

mommypie's latest post: Toilet seats are germy. Trolls using my name are worse.
I've been leaving all these comments all over the place saying, "I'll see you next year" which is really (in all honesty) wishful thinking, but still, where there's a will…

Didn't make BlogHer this year (sniff, sniff), but will be there next year. I haven't logged into my twitter account this weekend because I can't take all the updates. I do have to say that you are CRAZY and I can't believe that you posted your number. Here's hoping that you made it through the even without getting slammed with calls!! ;) Change your number if the crazies start calling (which might be me) :)

Dear Jenny,
I can't stop laughing.
Love,
Erika
P.S. Send me your Google phone.
And Karrie's back too -- yay!
I'm glad you're back :)
"Sleep study" sounds so peaceful and calm. Apparently not.
Blogger Holiday Cookie Party! Yay! I love bloggers, holidays, cookies, and parties. What could be better than this?
"Parents who choose a stroller that seats their baby facing away from them could risk long-term development problems in their children" -- I call BULLSHIT. Why is this being made an issue?
Need a new sewing machine? Polliwogged is giving away two Singer Curvys.
Holy crap.
Oh Christina, there's no shame at all. And good for you for deciding to fight for your marriage.
OK, we're all meeting Laura at pickup today and we're going to kick ass and take names.
Amen.
Loralee is at the hospital with a major kidney infection. Hustle over and tell her something funny.
Perfect! I couldn't have said it better myself.
YAY Simone!!
Sounds heavenly, but I'm left wondering what in the world is a "Teutonic spank?"
