Cat in a dog crate. What? Doesn’t everyone do that?
Our cat Bob is not the smartest cat in the world. In California. In my house. (And I only have one cat.) His brain works much like those in-flight recorders. He’ll remember things up to a point and then the tape loops back and everything more than a few days old is lost.
He’s at least 15 years old, but for the past 5 years he’s been an indoor outdoor cat. He couldn’t take the sound of babies crying and kept busting out of the house, so we said “fine, go outside!” What does he do? He lies in the neighbor’s yard until it is time to come home to eat.
This has been great for him for about 4.5 years, but then the neighbors got a new cat. He’s big and territorial, and does NOT like Bob coming to his yard. But Bob never remembers this. He always thinks “What the fuck is this guy’s problem? I’m over here every day.”
Clearly othercat has had enough, and the other day ripped Bob a new one. Literally. He now has a new hole on top of his back. It is surprisingly disgusting, especially with the Frankenstein staple through the middle of it.
While he’s recuperating we’re keeping him in a kind of mullet-ed dog crate. Bed in the front, litter box in the back — I think that’s actually a lot better than a hair mullet, but he sure does not. In fact, he’s pissed as hell. See for yourself.

WHEW – I can just see him snarling, “piss off!”.
My cat’s strictly an indoor cat, but she’s been clawing (literally) to get out. I think she knows there’s a male cat two doors down.
She almost knows how to pick the lock on the front door open.
OMG! I am laughing my ass off right now.
I have been in the worst mood all day and that fixed me right up. I need to print that.
My mom has a 14 year old cat that likes nothing more than to stop, look at you, then pee on the floor. She’s hysterical that way. My parents keep her in the basement garage (heated) in their regular house, but they are spending the next four months at their southern lake house with no basement or garage and they refuse to keep her in the house, but my mom still has some love for her and is afraid she will run away so to keep that from happening, the cat now lives in our old dog cage on their back porch. She is truly a prizen kitteh.
LOL. Still laughing. Hope your cat gets better and Bob learns his boundaries.
Oh, poor kitty! I hope he learns how to stay away from trouble.
Oh…poor Bob. Mine went through the same thing. It’s SO NASTY. She “popped” before we knew there was something wrong and totally ruined my guestroom bedspread. What, you mean you DON’T want to sleep in the bed covered in cat puss?! Whatever…get a hotel. ;0)
Awww, poor Bob. But your description was hilarious.
Bossy thinks she knows what a cat is… they’re like Great Danes only larger, right?
Oh my lol he looks MAD but he does make the perfect LOL cat picture :D
Bob does not look pleased at all.
Pity your cat. Got ripped and now being caged up! Bet he must be one really pissed off cat indeed. ;)
Okay, that is too funny! My cat would have not been amused. LOL.
LOL… funny but I hope he learns to stay out of trouble.
That looks like one pissed off puddy tat. May he heal quickly and remember to avoid the beating the next time…
I love it, I do that to my cat all the time. I do it when we have to leave the house. I put her in the cage until we come back. I do it to keep her from scratching the leather furniture. See before we had regular furniture and it hid her scratches, you couldn’t see them so I didn’t mind. Now she doesn’t like me to much. So Carlie, maybe one day we’ll take out your claws and you can really be mad at me.
Shon
Poor little boo boo! Boy, he does look pissed!
