Gone in 60… um 10 seconds
Mocha Momma is asking folks to introduce themselves in 10 seconds or less. She kicked this off because Blogher is next week, but everyone is invited to participate.
Pretty much all you need to know about Erika "Plain Jane Mom"
I will forget everyone's name, possibly even my own. I am terrible with faces, and even if yours is plastered all over the front of your blog I might not recognize you.
It is possible that you and I have had a long email correspondence but when I run into you I won't remember your name. If, however, you mention what we were talking about I will remember every detail.
I'm like this with movies too, by they way. I never remember the titles (just ask Mr. Plain), but the plots and characters stick with me.
So. All I ask is that you please don't take my brain feebleness personally! I am like this with everyone, and I hate it more than you do.
(Of course I'll remember you, but this is just a warning to everyone else out there. I may, however, need to pretend just for appearances that I don't remember even your name. If I do that, please just play along — you know, so no one else gets jealous that I remembered you and no one else. K? Thx.)

Erika, this is exactly how I am. I have a terrible memory about little details like names, numbers, etc., but I remember the big picture. If we see each other, hopefully one of us will recognize the other from our blog photos, and then we will both agree not to be offended at whichever doesn't recognize the other. Deal!
Since I have an excellent memory I'll probably remember you since you have a picture up, but I'm guessing that this will be SO. MUCH. BIGGER than last year that I'll be overwhelmed.
I'm so glad you did this.
Now. Proceed to my photo on my blog and prepare to forget me. It's all good. ;-)
Well, Erika, I sure wish I was meeting you next week. Next year, k? Then you can not recognize me or remember my name!
I has alreddy furgottin
You and my husband must be related. He is still surviving from the trauma of our wedding wherein he had to remember hundreds of names in order to introduce his new bride. He couldn't even get my maiden name correct for the first few months….
this sounds weird, but I don't remember faces all that well either. on meyers-briggs I am through the roof intuitive and barely register on the sensate side. I can walk into a room and pick up quickly on all the subtext, but not be able to remember who was who five minutes later. it's really quite a useless skillset. :) see you next weekend.
I am the same way. Someone could tell me their name and then I walk away and think, what was their name? I found that if I repeat their name after introduction then I remember it better. I'm pretty good with faces but often people look different from their blog photos so I may be embarrassing myself quite a bit at Blogher. Looking forward to meeting you.
I'll be fine as long as nobody minds being referred to as their blog name.
You real name will probably escape me.
I never forget a face (although I may actually pretend to). But I can't remember names for the life of me.
I will forget everyone's names pretty much right away….I will be making notes!
Oh and right after we were hitched my dh introduced me as his mom.
What's in a name, anyway - I suspect a lot of people will be too busy reading our name tags - mine will be proudly displayed on my boobies!
Nice to meet you, btw.
I usually hate them, but I hope we get name tags!
have a great time at blogher! i want to read all about it. (those "swimmers" on your sidebar reminded me that last friday my daughter + i went to the rinconada pool + the toddler pool was closed due to "contamination" + my daughter smiled later + told her dad, "contamination" means somebody pooped in the pool.)
I'm also terrible with names and with BlogHer I can only imagine that their "real" names and their blog personas will only add to the confusion.
Oh, and the alcohol. ;)
Have a great time! I'm looking forward to reading about it.

Need a new sewing machine? Polliwogged is giving away two Singer Curvys.
Holy crap.
Oh Christina, there's no shame at all. And good for you for deciding to fight for your marriage.
OK, we're all meeting Laura at pickup today and we're going to kick ass and take names.
Amen.
Loralee is at the hospital with a major kidney infection. Hustle over and tell her something funny.
Perfect! I couldn't have said it better myself.
YAY Simone!!
Sounds heavenly, but I'm left wondering what in the world is a "Teutonic spank?"
Congrats! (And I totally better be in that 20 or I'm going to cut you at BlogHer!)
