Want to be a guest blogger on The Plain Jane Mom Blog?

Friday, 15 June 2007 Comments »

Lately I've been reading complaints from bloggers which contain phrases like "I won't go into detail" and I wonder… Are folks feeling limited by friends, family or co-workers who read their blog? That's a rough spot to be in for sure.

I also read a lot of posts where folks refer to their small readership, and I know that sometimes it is hard to find your audience. In fact, that is one of the main motivations for my "Go Read It Today" feature — I want to point out good blogs I read that sometimes don't get the visitors they deserve.

Or maybe you're just looking for something new to do.

Whether or not any of these categories fit you, would you like to be considered for a guest post on my blog? Email me and let me know what you would write about. You'd be welcome to link back to your own blog, but if you'd rather do an anonymous post and get something off your chest, that's cool too.

Are you game? Drop me a line and let's get this party started.

I'm game. I appreciate all the work you do in rounding up those links I surf through. I have lost my voice lately but divorce and single parenting, although rich in material, will do that to you. I need a topic, I'd like to find out what I think after all this time.

I'll do you if you do me……..*smirk*

What a great idea, Erika. I do have something I'd like to get off my chest about my MOTHER and her less than helpful visit here after Shel was born.

But, it's petty. Just typing that last sentence makes me feel better!

I find that I don't hold back in my write because of my family reading, I hold because I don't want the rest of the world reading. Or my husbands boss (not that he reads my blog but he could) or my fellow playgroupies or my children would be mortified in 10 years. MY family usually knows what's going in my life first. But that's just me.

What a great idea! I'm interested, but will have to think of a topic. Sometimes I find myself censoring because my family reads it, but most of the time I wish more than just my family, and a few loyal bloggers, were reading it!

Cool idea. A lot of us have talked about how much we'd love to have "secret" blogs. This could be it.

I want to blog on your blog about all the stupid people that call me.

Great idea! I would love to and I know just the subject: My mother in law who is, as we speak, in Washington.

    Uuuuuuuuuuuuuugh!

This was exactly why I started The Basement - so much that so many of us have to say that really can't be said *publicly*. It's been open for over a year now, and people - anonymous and not - have talked about in-laws, infidelity, anger, pain, joy and everything in between.

The more spaces that we have to do this, the better.

Oh, PJM, fantastic idea. I'm totally in. Because my MOTHER is coming to visit for a MONTH and I might need to speak freely. And sadly, she reads mrs.flinger. I tell her not to. I tell her I can't be blamed for feelings being hurt. But still? She does it. So I can't be honest.

I don't write about work no matter how bad it is, don't want to get dooced and don't want to upset people if they happened to find my blog - if someone gets to my url and they know me they can immediately figure out it's me so I want to be somewhat discreet. Not sure if writing here would disinhibit me or not, I'd certainly have to do it anonymously.

If it's not too late to offer my services (such as they are) I would love to do a guest post too if you need one.
