Does this happen everywhere, or just in California?

And for the record, the computer was gone pretty quickly, but the monitor was there for days…

It even happens on the freeway. I’ve seen every thing from king sized mattresses to trashed, smashed computer monitors on the 710 Freeway. Not to mention the out of hand car chases with the CHP.

all the time here..people leave stuff like entire computer systems, tv’s fridges beside the dumpsters…most of it gets taken pretty fast.

Done all the time, here in upstate NY. More common are treasures left outside the home for the trash and a car (sometimes mine!) picks it up. It’s even common knowledge when the Trash Day is of wealthy suburbs so the rest of us can beat them!

This is a good way to pass stuff on. It is better than placing it straight into the dumpster. I have been a dumpster diver for over a decade. My blog Duckin’ and Divin’ Techniques of A Recycle Ranger www(dot)duckndive(dot)blogspot(dot)com has many dumpster diving tips, facts, and stories.
