Britax Regent appears to be in stock now. 5-point harness car seat for older kids.

Wednesday, 31 January 2007 Comments »

Remember seeing the video? Then remember trying to get a Britax Regent and finding that they were suddenly out of stock everywhere? It looks like you can finally get them again.

Sorry to say, I still don't know where you can get one of these seats in Canada, but maybe someone else can leave information about it in the comments? [UPDATE: looks like these seats are illegal in Canada :( ]

Just wanted to let you know that babylove.com has "PLENTY" (their words) of Britax Regent seats. They have the Onyx, Blue Bouquet and will be adding the Sahara to the website tomorrow because they just got a shipment. Downside, you do have to pay shipping, but well worth it if you ask me!

Thanks for the tip Roni! That shipping sure is steep, but if you need a seat now it could be worth it. (For example, to ship 2 seats to me in California would have been $87.)

Yes, we paid $74 to ship to Texas. I've looked everywhere and couldn't find it. My husband and I decided it would be worth it to pay the shipping to have the peace of mind that the kids are that much safer. You never know when an accident is going to happen.

If you live in Canada and are within driving distance of the USA buy it online from one of the companys that offer free shipping, have it shipped to a ups store in the USA and pick it up there. they charge $15.00 a box to hold the package for a few days untill you pick it up.

I ordered a Britax Regent on Friday night. It's Tuesday, and UPS has it on the truck for delivery!!! I purchased mine from Babyuniverse.com and received FREE shipping. I don't know about Canada. I'm pleased with the speedy service and availability of this seat.

Sorry Canadians. Your laws don't allow any seat to be used over 48 lbs. This would make the Regent illegal for a child over 48 lbs. in Canada.

I am considering purchasing this car seat for my 13 month old and I was just wondering if anyone had a child this young in this seat and if so how they like it. It seems like a GREAT seat for older children, but I am concerned that it is not good for young toddlers. Please advise me as to how you feel as I will be purchasing a new one soon as she is at the wight limit for her infant seat.
    Thanks!

my nephew is 18mths old and he has one and loves it! It has lots of room and and it's very comfortable. This will definitely be the only car seat you will have to buy. My daughter is 5 and my son is 6 and they love it too!! Good luck!

Thanks Roni! I actually just purchased one online in "Madison" today for $208!!! :) Last day of discount sale! I checked the seat out at Babies R Us(who wanted 269.99) to see how she "fit in it" and Boy - does she ever look teeny tiny in that thing!! BUT I'm really excited about our new purchase! I Know this seat will last her. We should get it in two days - she is only 20 lbs 12 oz right now, so we've got to put on a little weight first - But I think this will really help out in the car. She is SOOOO fussy right now even for 10 min - I know she is bored of the back of the seat. Thanks again!

That is a GREAT price! I think you are making a wise choice. My kids are older and they don't even think twice about sitting in it. Most of my son's friends are either in a booster or not in anything and he is perfectly fine with having to sit in his Regent because it's so comfy! He knows that we are doing our best so that he is always as safe as possible. I think once you are able to turn her around she will be happy as can be in her Princess chair! (that's what my daughter calls it). Best of luck!

Be advised - if you buy a seat that does not have the CMVSS (Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standard) sticker (ie from the States) it is not legal for use in Canada.

If anyone is looking for the Regent in the Sahara print. http://www.bergstroms.com has them on sale at a great price right now. You should check it out. It is the lowest price i've seen for the Regent seat.
