I live in France and use the solid vegetable oil for frying frites as a substitute for the shortening.  Not sure about the brands in Denmark or Australia - but here one brand is Végétal. It is sometimes in the refrigerator case and sometimes it is near the milk/cream/fake cheese section.</description>
